Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet are the little neighboring towns on the tip of Cape Cod that we call the Outer Cape! Provincetown, at the tip of the Cape, is a well known artist colony with lots of galleries, beautiful beaches, whale watching, extraordinary people watching, great restaurants and shopping, all with a small town New England fishing village feel. Truro, between Wellfleet and "Ptown" is geared more towards the beach lover-we have over 8-a more remote and secluded atmostphere with virtually no 'town'. TRURO-Truro is a small, rural community on the Lower Cape, located just south and east of the 'tip' of Cape Cod, bordered by Provincetown to the northwest, Wellfleet to the south, the Atlantic to the north and east, and Cape Cod Bay to the west. It is just 10 miles from Ptown and has glorious beaches: Ballston, Coast Guard, Head of the Meadow, and Longnook on the Ocean side and Cold Storage, Corn Hill, Fisher, Great Hollow, Ryder and Beach Point on the Bay side. Rich in history and close to the water, Truro appeals to the buyer seeking a more remote and secluded way of living. Population: 1800 year round, swelling to 15,000 during summer months.
WELLFLEET-The epitome of Cape Cod charm,Wellfleet is an extremely diverse community. The Central Village is also the focus of Wellfleet's year round civic life and commercial activity. Over 60% of the land in Wellfleet is in the Cape Cod National Seashore and over 3/4 of the town's land is in some form of protection. Wellfleet is probably most famous for its eponymous oysters, celebrated in the annual October Oyster Fest. The town has the second largest concentration of art galleries on Cape Cod, second only to Provincetown. Wellfleet has fine shops and many excellent restaurants serving local seafood delicacies. Being closely tied to the Sea, Wellfleet appeals to the buyer seeking a remote atmosphere with a vibrant Town Center. Population: 3500 year round swelling to around 17,000.
